I always prefer the rational and straight forward approach to ending things, even it's a bit painful but not overly so. I went through a sudden and painful breakup in my mid 20's where my heart was ripped out and stomped flat.

I look back at it now and I believe she was trying to be "tough" as it was also very hard on her to break up with me (at least I'd like to think). We were two long distance lovers with short distance needs and we both new it wasn't going to work in the long run. However, I wasn't prepared for the quickness of it (aka ripping the bandaid off) to end.

There wasn't really any closure (and there never has been) but I've since moved on from it. It took me a long time to work though that breakup but that said, would it have been different if I did have closure? I'm not too sure.

As I've gotten older, I've appreciate quick, straight to the point, break ups/offs. I even appreciate ghosting to a degree because I can quickly course correct and surround myself with people who want to 'ride or die with me.' Life is too short and there's plenty of wierdos like me out there to chill with.
