I often wonder if this violence is not a bug in the system, but rather a feature. I don't see humanity ever-evolving out of it. Even if we throw off the shackles of patriarchy, it's just a matter of time before some violent psychopath cons enough people to kill for him and take resources again.

I like to believe in the goodness of humanity but it tends to disappoint me a lot.
