I was thinking the same thing. I think if Bob and Elaine could form a deeper relationship if they agreed to consensual non-monogamy. Bob would feel relaxed knowing that he could always 'test drive' other partners while Elaine would be satisfied with their coupling Plus Elaine can also test drive others as well.
