IMHO the book became famous because it was a good story of a kid going from rags to riches (allegedly) and it gave people (like me) hope to get rich.

I too have started businesses, most have failed but two have stuck around and made money. In the end, the ones that "made it" used only Kiyosaki's advice on forming an LLC. The rest of the success was from what I learned while getting my MBA.
