It's such a hallmark holiday and while I get my partner a card (she gets me on too), it's such an annoying holiday. When I lived in ABQ I would get together with my single girlfriends and we'd dress in black and go downtown to a bar and drink the night away. Good times.
I seriously hate this #relationship goals shit too. Like why are you FOMO'ing the celebration that you got someone (for the immediate time being) forsaking fucking anyone else? Like what's so special about your sex organs that they have to be celebrated?
To me love isn't this Cupid and candy shit. Romantic love is being there when your partner is puking out their guts because they're sick. Love is a deep intimacy and still wanting to hump each others brains out. Love is paying the bills, upholding your partnership. Love is arguing and saying your sorry. Love is a ton of small things, nuances, and big things. It's certainly not ONE DAY OF THE YEAR.
Buy this stuff, it shows your romantic partner how much you love them. That's complete BS! Love is thoughtfulness and making a conscious choice that this person is important to me and that I want to be there for them.
Ok I went on a /rant. Sorry.
