I've had such a love/hate relationship with Bitcoin, mostly because there are so many shills and the carbon footprint it is generating. However the carbon footprint issue is being resolved and the system functioned even when China pulled out.

I compare Bitcoin to Polyamory in a way. It decentralizes the hierarchy and grants control to the individual and who they love/conduct business with/etc. That's incredibly frightening to the powers that be and you'll see more rules coming out for transacting with Bitcoin.

There's a small glimmer of hope that Bitcoin is already too big to be put back in the box, one can only hope we can smash the banks and take back our economic control. I know that this might not be very sensual/erotic topic, but money is control and in the hands of old white men, it perpuates the patriarchy and control over us.

Decentralization is the way forward for everything, if you ask me, but it can only work if a critical mass of people do it. That' s the hard part and why we must speak up.
