Our world is driven on money and money reinforces the dominance hierarchy quite nicely. This is especially evident in centralized banking. Those at the top get access to the 'free money' that circulates into the economic system and debases the purchasing power of the people in the lower rungs of the economic society.

Granted, our system is based on Keneysian Economics and it does have it's merits when contrasted with Austrian Economics, it still can be abused as such. These are the economic shackles we all suffer from unless your at the top.

That said, and without getting into the carbon footprint problems of cryptocurrencies, the Bitcoin experiment is quite promising. It's a whole decentralized system of exchange that seems to work quite well, even when parts of the system (i.e. China) goes down. It's frightening to see the Federal Reserve and others trying to figure out how to control this.

There are many shackles as you point out, this one is a real strong one.
