Speaking as a Man, I can tell you we are under immense pressure and we are easily misled as we try to 'be a man!' A lot of times we don't see the root of the problems but feel them.

Any form of criticism or questioning of our roles will be met with attacks. It's like when you beat a dog everyday, you either break its spirit or it will one day bite you. We just don't realize the root of the problem that the patricarchy negatively affects them too. If you're not on the top of the 'alpha man' pyramid you're a loser.

The collective "man-we" have never really dug deep into themselves and questioned if this is really how we should live our lives with the women in our lives. For simplicity's sake I'm viewing this through the lens of cis-hetro-normative society.

And, quite honestly, there's a lot of money and power dedicated to keeping this type of structure in place.
