To tie this back to what you wrote earlier in your article, you're a parent (like me) and you are juggling a FT job, parenting, and life. You are not like Tom K who has way less responsibilities (aka humans relying on you). Mentors IMHO can act as important shortcut in cases like this, cause we're always trying to get everything done.
I don't begrudge Tom K for his "success" but he wrote that article with that title on purpose to get a rise out of people and sell his course.
I'm a big believer that you should use what works for you and jettison what doesn't work. It's as simple as that.
