In my past life I designed stormwater and ground water recharge systems that were soley dependent on existing geology and hydrological patterns. In my particular town, we extract more water out of the acquifer than we put back. That will work for maybe 1 or 2 generations before the resource runs out. Then what?
Simply put, there are too many people on this planet fighting for resources and that sets up an incredible disparity between the haves and have nots. This just feeds the cycle of violence which the military industrail complex loves.
